(LANETT, Ala.) –  The Truett McConnell University women’s golf team competed in the Point University Ladies Fall Invitational on Saturday-Sunday for their first tournament of the 2019-20 campaign. After setting a new program record day one (317) to lead the field, the Lady Bears improved to set another record (309) through the second round to finish runner-up (626), of six teams.
 
Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Tennessee Wesleyan University took first (617) while TMU defeated AAC opponents Point University (fifth place, 684) and Reinhardt University (sixth place, 685).
 
The Lady Bears were individually led by senior Teagan Lovingood (79, 76) and junior Kiley Blackburn (80, 75), who both tied for seventh. Following by a slim margin was freshman Brooke Krieg who carded an 81 and 76 to place 10th overall while junior Faith Reddick, who led through the first 18, tied for 14th with a 77, 86. Rounding out the Lady Bears’ scores was Ava Rokosz who placed 22nd (94, 82).
 
Competing as individuals was Lillian Goff (181) and Megan Edwards (181) who tied in 25th and Hope Hewatt who placed 29th (184).
 
Next on the schedule for the Lady Bears is the SCAD Invitational Saturday, Sept. 14 – Sunday, Sept. 15.
