(ATLANTA, Ga.) – On Friday-Saturday, the Truett McConnell University men’s track and field team traveled to compete at the Emory Spring Break Classic, where the Bears where featured finishing in ninth out of 18 teams with a combined total of 39 points.

LEADERS
Leading the way for the Bears in the field events was Dylan Simms who was featured finishing in first place in the shot put throw with a final mark of 14.60 meters, setting a new school and personal record. Austin Mathis followed with a second-place finish in the discus throw with a mark of 43.03 meters. In the pole vault, Tyler Crow was featured finishing in sixth with a final height of 4.00 meters.

In the running events, Christian Strickland was featured finishing in second place in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.92 seconds, setting a new school and personal record. In the steeple chase, Bryson Swartz was featured finishing in sixth (10:39.88) while Marco Flores finished in seventh (10:44.92).

Up next, the Bears will travel to compete in the two-day Don McGarey Invitational hosted by Kennesaw State University on Friday, March 22 through Saturday, March 23.
