AIKEN, S.C. – Tamera Thorpe scored a game-high 19 points as the University of North Georgia women’s basketball team earned a 64-48 win over USC Aiken Saturday afternoon.

UNG was behind much of the first half, but a 9-0 run at the end of the half put the Nighthawks up, 30-21. The Pacers briefly took the lead early in the third quarter, but North Georgia went on another run to take the lead for good before the end of the third period.

NOTES
– Thorpe was 7-for-11 from the floor and a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line.

– Amber Skidgel and Julianne Sutton each finished with 13 points, while Abbie Franklin added 10.

– The Nighthawks were 7-for-12 from behind the three-point line.
