4/8/18

DAHLONEGA – Josh Profit went 3-for-4 at the plate as the University of North Georgia baseball team defeated Young Harris, 7-2, to claim the Peach Belt Conference series. The Nighthawks are now 21-13 in 2018.

After the Mountain Lions got a single run in the top of the first, North Georgia answered with a three-run bomb from Andres Perez, his league-leading 15th of the year, to give UNG a 3-1 lead. The Nighthawks extended their lead in the second on a sacrifice fly by Profit, scoring Nick Clarno to push the lead to three.

North Georgia scored again in the fourth as Bill LeRoy singled to the left side, plating Profit and increasing the lead to 5-1. YHC used a Cory Ewald single in the sixth to cut into the lead, but UNG scored the final two runs in the eighth, one off a Perez double and the second off a Conner Corbitt single.
