(Cleveland)- It was a slow day Saturday for White County election officials, but overall last week, the first week of early voting for the May 21 General Primary/Nonpartisan election was good.

Amie Veater, White County Elections and Voter Registration supervisor said Saturday  27 people came into the office to cast a ballot, but a good turnout earlier during the week added up to a total of  526 people casting in-person ballots.

The elections office has received back 70 absentee ballots of the 184 that have been issued by the office.

There are two more weeks of advance voting. Voting is taking place in the elections office in the Mauney Building on the Helen Highway north of Cleveland. You can vote each day from 8 until 5 PM through May 17th  with another Saturday voting day this Saturday.
