Rev. NewtonJackson, Jr., age 88 of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2017.
Mr. Jacksonwas born on July 30, 1929, in Cleveland, Georgia, to the late Newton Jackson,Sr. and Emma Wooten Jackson. Junior wasa member of Mossy Creek Baptist Church and was a pastor at Northside BaptistChurch in Cornelia for 7 years and also pastored in Utah for 16 years. Mr. Jackson was a veteran of the UnitedStates Air Force and previously worked for Union Pacific Railroad as aforeman. He was preceded in death by hiswife, Elsie Jackson; brother, Rondal Jackson; and sister, Alvastine Moore.
Survivorsinclude his son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Robyn Jackson, Cleveland;daughter, Lena Jacobsen, Kearns, UT; daughter and son-in-law, Christine andLarry Beebe, Kearns, UT; grandchildren, Beth Kolleman, Ryan Beebe, KoreyJacobsen, Todd Jacobsen, Shelbie Jackson, Amber Murphy, Dasha Somer; 23 greatgrandchildren; sisters, Reba Alexander, Jewanda Satterfield, and AnnettaAlexander.
Funeralservices are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 1, 2017 at the Chapel ofBarrett Funeral Home. The Rev. BryanSatterfield and the Rev. Milton Harris will officiate. Interment will follow at County Line BaptistChurch Cemetery.
The familywill receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
