(COLUMBUS, Ga. )- The No. 11 University of North Georgia women’s basketball team finished off the regular season sweep of Columbus State Saturday with a 72-63 win on the road.

After a back-and-forth affair in the first half that saw the two teams knotted at the break, North Georgia went on a 21-10 run in the third quarter that gave them the lead for good. UNG led by as many as 20 points on two occasions in the fourth quarter before the Cougars clawed back to the final nine point deficit.

NOTES
– Julianne Sutton finished the day with a double-double of 22 points and 14 rebounds. Jamari McDavid finished with 15 points, while Isabel Davenport had a career high 13 off the bench.

– UNG closed out the game in the fourth going 6-for-7 from the floor and 9-for-16 from the charity stripe.

– The win over Columbus State marks the eighth straight win in the series for North Georgia.
