(CENTRAL, S.C.) – The Truett McConnell University lacrosse team traveled on Tuesday to face Southern Wesleyan University for their 2022 season opener. The Lady Bears put up a fight, ultimately suffered suffered their first loss of the season with a final score of  19-3. 

PLAY-BY-PLAY
The first quarter saw Southern Wesleyan pu tup eight points, while Hope Frady responded in the 12th minute with a goal of her own to put TMU on the board. SWU added three more in the second quarter, but once again Frady took a shot to add to the Lady Bears score. The 42nd minute saw a final goal from TMU, ultimately resulting in a 19-3 loss.

LEADERS
Frady led the way with three goals, along with seven shots and four ground balls. Sophie Beach followed with two shots and three ground balls, while Holly Foster had one shot and three ground balls. Addie Blazi tallied four ground balls and ten saves.

The Lady Bears host their home opener on Wednesday, March 2, where they are set to face AAC foe, Brenau University, at 5:00 p.m., inside the TMU Soccer/Lacrosse Complex.
