(Clarkesville)- There are a wide variety of jobs performed at Habersham EMC, but none of them are exempt from the dedication to safety. From the linemen to member services and everyone in between, the over 100 employees play a unique role in maintaining a safe work environment. HEMC is celebrating its sixth consecutive year with no lost time accidents.

Jason Rothell, Manager of Safety and Loss Control with Habersham EMC says, “Safety is a continued investment. It doesn’t allow for ‘do-over’ days.  It doesn’t stop at the gate when we leave to go home. It is a mindset engrained in each individual and part of every task every day.”

In addition to employee safety being the number one priority on the job site and in the office, HEMC promotes a culture of safety that goes beyond the goal of an injury-free workplace. The co-op nurtures an environment where concern for employee’s health, safety, and welfare extends beyond the walls of the office and job sites into the community. HEMC is committed to providing training, proper tools, personal protective gear, and time to do their jobs safely.

“This is a huge accomplishment that is only possible because of the dedication, commitment, and pride for every job that our employees perform each day,” said Bryan Ferguson Habersham EMC CEO/President. “

Habersham EMC looks forward to the future, the milestones yet to come, and seeing the number of accident-free days continue to climb.
