(Cleveland)- On the final day of qualifying Friday for Cleveland’s municipal election former Councilwoman Annie Sutton completed and returned her paperwork to seek the Ward 2 Council seat.

This year’s election is for Mayor and Ward’s 1 and 2 Council seats.

Incumbent Mayor Josh Turner qualified Monday and Incumbent Ward 1 Councilwoman Nan Bowen qualified for re-election on Thursday.

Qualifying for the three open positions ended at 4:30 PM Friday.

Since all three offices had only one candidate City Clerk Lisa Ritchie said, ”We are working with the White County Board of Elections and Registrations to determine how to proceed once the write-in period has elapsed.”

The City of Cleveland has contracted with White County Elections to handle this year’s city election.
