(Cleveland)- Cleveland City Clerk Connie Tracas announced Tuesday that City Hall will be closed Wednesday from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. so employees can attend the funeral services for former City Councilman John Palmour.
The 76 year old Palmour died Sunday at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Palmour served on the Cleveland City Council representing Ward four for 36 consecutive years. He retired from the council in 2006. He was an active member of Cleveland First Baptist Church and a charter member of the Truth Seekers Sunday School Class for 41 years.
After leaving Talon Zippers where he was employed for 20 years, he was involved in many business endeavors including residential and commercial development and building, real estate, restaurants, rental properties. He served on the board of Regions Bank and the White County Water Authority along with serving on the White County Board of Health.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.
