(CLEVELAND) – The Georgia State Patrol reports an 18 year old White County youth was killed in an early-morning wreck Sunday west of Cleveland. The victim was identified as Darrell England, of Cleveland.  Cpl. Auston  Allen of Georgia State Patrol Post. 6 in Gainesville said the single-vehicle wreck was reported at 6:18 a.m. Sunday.

Allen said the wreck occurred on Georgia 115 West just east of Georgia 284. That’s in the Shoal Creek community about five miles west of Cleveland.
England was driving a 1990 Ford F-150 pickup that was traveling west toward Dahlonega.  For an unknown reason, he traveled off the south shoulder of Georgia 115, down an embankment and struck a large tree with the driver’s side front.

Allen said,  a registered nurse who was passing by stopped to check on England and found no signs of life.   By the time first responders arrived, the vehicle had caught fire and burned.

Allen said he believes the England died upon impact with the tree.
