Yvonne Wike Hix, age 86, of Chelsea, Alabama, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on December 6, 2022.

Yvonne was born in White County, Georgia, to the late C.G. Wike Sr. and Ida Mae Wike of Cleveland, Georgia. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 36 years, Raymond A. Hix; brothers, C.G (Jr.), Lawrence, and Berlin; and sisters, Myrtle, Willene, Christine, Lorene, Louise, and Winnell.

Yvonne is survived by her sons Barry Hix (Julie), Birmingham, Alabama, and Shane Hix, Atlanta; grandsons, Bailey Hix and Baker Hix; sister, Imogene Autry (Hoyt); and many nieces and nephews.

Yvonne was first and foremost a believer in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Yvonne was known for her purposeful and frequent prayers for her family and friends. She was a great champion for her sons and grandsons. An independent spirit kept her active throughout her life.

Yvonne loved to cook and entertain at her home. She was known to have a sweet tooth and to enjoy a Coca-Cola daily. Christmas was her favorite holiday to celebrate. Her home was meticulously decorated with Santa Clauses, Christmas china, and a Christmas tree. She knew all the words to the Ramblin’ Wreck from Georgia Tech and never missed a chance to cheer for the Yellow Jackets. Yvonne’s favorite place to visit was the beach to enjoy the salt air and morning walks along the water. She loved Gospel music, especially if Elvis was singing.

She will be missed beyond measure by all who knew and loved her.

Graveside services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Harvest Christian Church Cemetery.  Mr. Dean Hix will officiate.
