(CLEVELAND) – On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University women’s track team traveled to compete at the SWU Gotta Run Invite, hosted by Southern Wesleyan University.
Leading the way for the Lady Bears was Sara Owen who finished second in the 800m race with a time of 2:22.74. Simone Chock followed placing sixth in the 5000 meter race with a time of 20:21.38, while Hannah Canady finished seventh (20:37.24). Myesha Hall finished eighth in the 100m (12.27 seconds).
In the field events, Grace Jones was seen finishing fourth in the hammer (42.54m) and sixth in the discus throw (35.12m). Hall also found a fourth place finish in the long jump (5.45m) while Esther Nakanwagi finished fifth in the triple jump (10.13m).
The 4x400m relay team, featuring Nakanwagi, Trenyonna Allen, Owen and Hall, finished in second with a time of 4:19.29. Rounding out TMU’s results was the 4x100m relay team, featuring Amya Arnold, Hall, Brooke Wilmoth and Nakanwagi, who finished in sixth place (49.04 seconds).
Up next, the Lady Bears will travel to Kennesaw, Ga. on Friday, April 6 for a two day track meet hosted by Kennesaw State University.
