…WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 8 PM EDT
THIS EVENING…
…FREEZE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 10 AM EDT MONDAY…
The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a
Freeze Warning, which is in effect from 2 AM to 10 AM EDT Monday.
A Wind Advisory has also been issued. This Wind Advisory is in
effect from 10 AM this morning to 8 PM EDT this evening.
* Locations…Along and north of a line from Chattoogaville to
Dawsonville to Cleveland.
* Temperatures…low temperatures in the upper 20s to lower 30s.
* Winds…Northwest 15 to 25 mph with frequent gusts 30 to 25 mph.
Occasional gusts up to 40 mph possible.
* Timing…The Freeze Warning is in effect from late tonight into
mid-morning Monday. The Wind Advisory is in effect from 10 am
this morning through 8 pm this evening.
* Impacts…Freezing temperatures may damage sensitive vegetation.
Take steps to protect plants from the cold. Also take steps to protect
pets from the cold temperatures. These winds may break
tree branches and down weaker trees, particularly those in saturated
soils due to recent rains. Unsecured items may be blown around.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
A Freeze Warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or
highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.
A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult…especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
