Wilson Rudolph Poole, age 85 of Baldwin, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017, at
his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Banks County on February 9, 1932, he was a son of the late James Wilson and
Florence Poole. Mr. Poole retired as a correctional officer from Lee Arrendale State
Prison. He was an emeritus deacon and member of Line Baptist Church and served his
country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Poole was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and
friend. He enjoyed campfires, camping, gardening, farming, and NASCAR. He was a
skilled carpenter and known by his quick wit.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Howard,
Mitchell, and Billy Poole and sisters, Virginia Pruitt, Annie Sue Greenway, and Ruth
Edwards.

Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Jewel Denton Poole of Baldwin; daughters and
sons-in- law, Gwen & Jim Wood of Alto, Laticia & Rick Gragg of Alto, and Wanda &
Jonathan Perry of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Erin Willcox, Megan Gragg, Kyle Wood,
Adam Gragg, Brittany Perry, Jacqueline Cash, and Andrew Perry; 15 great
grandchildren; adopted family, Ronnie & Dottie Morris, Corey Morris, & Ashley Barrett;
brothers, Kenneth Poole and Donald Poole both of Baldwin; sisters, Myrtle Lewallen,
Rachel McNabb, and Linda Chapman all of Baldwin, Francine Elsner of Carnesville, and
Julia McConnell of Cornelia.

Funeral services are 2 pm Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin
& Stewart with Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating. Interment will follow in Line Baptist
Church cemetery with full military honors provided by the Grant Reeves VFW Post
#7720, Rabun County DAV Chapter 15, Habersham County American Legion Post 84,
and the Georgia National Guard.

The family will receive friends from 5-9 pm on Monday.
