(Cleveland)- The preliminary unemployment rate in White County in July was 2.8 percent, that according to information released Thursday by the Georgia Department of Labor.  The 2.8 percent  is down one tenth of a percent from the revised June rate.

According to the labor department the labor force in White County in July was 16,374 of those 15,918 were employed and 456 were unemployed.

Labor Commissioner Mark Butler said that the Georgia Mountains region set records for labor force and employed residents in July.   Georgia Mountains also saw the unemployment rate fall across the 13-county region, according to preliminary numbers.
