(Cleveland)- The special activity had to be delayed due to Summer schedules but White County Rotary Club paid special recognition to community and club members on Tuesday during their annual end-of-year awards program. 2020-21 President Jordan Dawson handed out the awards during the club’s weekly meeting Tuesday.
Abby Rowland, White County School Nutrition Director was presented with the Jean Harris Volunteer of the Year Award. This award recognizes the efforts of a Rotarian or non-Rotarian woman who has made a significant contribution to the development and progress of others in their community.
The Eugene Adams Community Service Award, that honors a non-Rotarian local business or civic leader whose unselfish service has furthered the welfare of our community. That award went to Jacky Jones at Jacky Jones Ford in Cleveland. ( Jacky Jones was unable to attend the meeting and will be awarded later)
Other awards include; The family of Rotary Fellowship Award presented to Annette Adams.
Scott Justus was selected by the membership as the Rotarian of the Year, for exemplifying the meaning of “ Service Above Self”, the Rotary Motto. (Justus was unable to be at the meeting and will be presented later)
The Presidents Award went to incoming president Zach Gerrells, this award was made by the current president to an individual who has been invaluable to them in their year as President.
