AUGUSTA, Ga. – The University of North Georgia was well represented in the Peach Belt Conference weekly baseball awards on Monday as Bill Leroy was named the PBC Freshman of the Week and Dylan Peppers was tabbed the league’s Pitcher of the Week. Leroy is the first UNG freshman to snag the award this year, while the Pitcher of the Week honor is the second of the season for Peppers.

Leroy hit a .667 clip in four games last week with a .733 slugging percentage. The designated hitter from Dublin, Georgia collected multiple hits in all four outings with one double and three runs batted in. In a three-game sweep of Young Harris, he hit .636, driving in a pair in the opener on Friday. He drove in another with a double and scored eight runs on the week. The freshman is hitting .435 on the season with a .565 slugging percentage.

Peppers pitched eight shutout innings as North Georgia downed Young Harris, 10-0, to finish off a three-game series sweep. The senior righty from Good Hope, Georgia struck out a career-high 11 while allowing only three hits and two walks. He sat down the side in order in the first, third and fourth innings and allowed runners to reach second only twice in his outing. Peppers is eighth in the PBC with a 3.40 ERA and 11th in opponent batting average.

The Nighthawks, who moved up to No. 3 today in the Collegiate Baseball Division II Poll, will welcome Anderson (S.C.) to Bob Stein Stadium on Wednesday. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
