AMERICUS, Ga. – Freshman Austen Heider shot a final round score of two-under 70 as the University of North Georgia men’s golf team finished up play in the GSW Hurricane Invitational with a seventh place finish.

Heider shot even-par for the tournament to finish in a tie for seventh place individually. GSW’s Vincent Norrman won the tournament after shooting a 13-under 203 in the three-round tournament.

The Nighthawks were just three shots outside of the top five after shooting 884 for the tournament. Southern Arkansas won the tournament by three strokes over Georgia Southwestern and Young Harris. Clayton State finished in fourth place, while Lander rounded out the top five.

Tanner Merck earned a top-20 finish, ending in 19th place with a 221.

The Nighthawks will be back in action next week in the Southern Tide Intercollegiate.
