ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – After a challenging day of golf, the University of North Georgia women’s golf team sits in fourth place at the Peach Belt Conference Championships, contested at the Slammer & Squire Golf Course.

Carson Roberts leads the Nighthawks as she shot a five-over 77 in the opening round. Closely behind her at seven-over 79 is Megan Sabol, who finds herself in 11th place after the opening round of play.

UNC Pembroke leads the five-team field with an opening-round score of eight-over 296 as a team. The Braves’ Madison Corley leads the tournament with a first round 70. The host school, Flagler, sits 11 strokes behind in second place. Columbus State is in third with a score of 318, followed by the Nighthawks at 322 and Young Harris at 324.

The second round is tomorrow with North Georgia’s tee times falling between 8:20 and 8:56 a.m.
