CONOVER, N.C. – In a field featuring some of the best teams in the Southeast Region, the University of North Georgia men’s golf team is in a tie for tenth place after an 18-hole score of 302 Monday at the NCAA Southeast Regional Preview hosted at Rock Barn Golf Course. Barton College finished the first day of play atop the leaderboard at two-over-par 290.

The Nighthawks are tied with Erskine College at 14-over-par as a team but sit just seven strokes behind Lincoln Memorial for second place. Coker is in third place, while Lenoir-Rhyne, North Greenville and Catawba sit in a tie for fourth.

Matt Elliott and Harry White shot three-over-par 75, finding themselves in a tie for 23rd in the 85-player field. Joseph Jarrard and Tanner Merck are one stroke behind after matching scores of 76.

North Georgia will conclude the tournament tomorrow with play beginning at 8:30 a.m.
