(MOUNT VERNON, Ga.) – On Wednesday, the Truett McConnell University wrestling team traveled to face Brewton-Parker College, where the Bears banded together to secure a dominating 30-12 victory.
Senior Brandon Navixay led the way in the 125 weight class with a first period fall (:45), followed by a first period fall for freshman Joshua Bledsoe (2:34) in the 141 weight class. Senior Leonel Silvestre showed grit in the 149 weight class with a decision win with a score of 9-3, while freshman Spencer Fields recorded a first period fall of his own (1:55) in the 165 weight class. Senior Ian James in the 174 weight class, senior Nolan Cook in the 197 weight class and freshman Phillip Terrell in the 285 weight class rounded ou the results for the Bears with three consecutive individual decision wins to make te final score 30-12.
