(KENNESAW, Ga. ) – On Friday, the Truett McConnell University men’s track and field team traveled to compete at the Kennesaw State Invite, hosted by Kennesaw State University, where the Bears were seen finishing in fourth of 18 teams, with a combined score of 92.5 points.

“I’m very proud of what the mens and women’s team accomplished at kennesaw state,” says Head Coach Joe Imhoff. “We finished the meet with many PR’s, school records and national qualifiers. As we end the regular season in the next week, I am excited where we are heading into conference. This team has worked hard all year and it has shown with a fourth place combined finish in a division 1 meet as one of a few representing the NAIA.”

LEADERS

Leading the way for the Bears was Connor Morgan who finished first in the 800m race with a time of 1:53.72. Cameron Alamia followed placing second in the 200m dash with a time of 21.37 seconds while also punching his individual ticket to NAIA Nationals in May. Max Calderon was featured finishing second in the 3000m steeple chase with a time of 11:06.12, while Chandler Bagley finished in eighth in the 400m hurdles (1:00.45).

In the field events, Austin Mathis led the way finishing in fifth in the discus throw with a mark of 43.84m. In the shot-put throw, Seth Fowler finished in fifth (14.22m), followed by Dylan Simms who finished in seventh (13.80m). Jeremiah Giddens finished fifth in the high jump with a final height of 1.83m. 

The 4x100m relay team, featuring Giddens, Alamia, Gary Oaks and Brett Wilgus, finished in fifth (42.63 seconds), while the 4x400m relay team, featuring Donnie Swinson, Morgan, Colby Liesen and Bryson Swartz, finished in sixth (3:25.15).
