(CLEVELAND) – On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University men’s track team traveled to compete at the SWU Gotta Run Invite, hosted by Southern Wesleyan University. 

Leading the way for the Bears was Austin Mathis who finished first in both the shot put (14.29m) and discus throw (43.63m). Seth Fowler followed coming in third in both the shot put (13.70m)  and discus throw (39.09m), respectfully. Dylan Simms was seen finishing fourth in the shot put (13.63m) while Michael Gilmore finished seventh in the discus throw (37.71m). Rounding out the results from the field events, Jeremiah Giddens finished fifth in the high jump, clearing a height of  1.80m.

In the individual running events, Connor Morgan led the way, featuring a first place finish in the 800m race with a time of 1:58.31, while Donald Swinson finished sixth (2:03.38). In the 200m dash, Cameron Alamia finished second with a time of 10.51 seconds. Chandler Bagley was seen finishing in sixth in the 400 meter hurdles (1:02.01).

The men’s 4x400m relay team, featuring Swinson, Morgan, Bryson Swartz and Colby Liesen, finished fourth (3:31.51), while the 4x100m relay team, featuring Liesen, Alamia, Gary Oaks and Brett Wilgus, finished fifth (42.71 seconds).

Up next, the Bears will travel to Kennesaw, Ga. on Friday, April 6 for a two day track meet hosted by Kennesaw State University.
