(DAHLONEGA) – Following the completion of the fall season, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Collegiate Tennis Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point have been released to include singles and doubles, national and regional rankings.

The success the University of North Georgia men’s and women’s tennis teams had at the ITA Southeast Regional tournament resulted in numerous Nighthawks being ranked in the polls.

Three North Georgia players made their way into the national singles rankings highlighted by Angelina Linnikova’s No. 5 rankings after earning an at-large bid to the ITA Cup in October. Teammate Johanna Lippert and men’s player Joaquin Benoit are also each ranked No. 22 in singles nationally, respectively.

On the national women’s doubles scene, Lippert and Viktorie Wojcikova are ranked No. 18 while Linnikova and teammate Svetlana Teterina finished the fall ranked No. 22.

Regionally for the men, Benoit is ranked eighth in singles and teamed up with Giulio Sassi to earn a No. 8 ranking in doubles.

On the women’s side three players earned regional singles rankings – Linnikova (2nd), Lippert (4th) and Wojcikvoa (17th).

In doubles, Lippert/Wojcikova are ranked third regionally while the duo of Linnikova/Teterina wrapped up the fall schedule ranked fourth. Additionally, the women’s tandem of Valentina Ascarrunz and Carolina Reis are ranked seventh in the Southeast region.
