PEARL FARMER BOHANNON, age 90 of Demorest, Georgia passed away on Friday, January
25, 2019 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
Born in Toccoa, Georgia on March 12, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Thomas
Jones Farmer & Arie Idell Hefner Farmer. Mrs. Pearl worked for Carwood
Manufacturing for many years before retiring from Yonah Realty Company with over 30
years of combined service. She loved housework, was an avid soap opera fan, and
enjoyed traveling around to shop at flea markets across North Georgia. Mrs. Pearl was
a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Lloyd
Bohannon, sons, Larry Bohannon, David Bohannon, daughter, Diane Bohannon
Shelton, brothers, Bill Farmer, Tobe Farmer, Young Farmer, sisters, Bernice Ussery &
Mary Weaver.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Marty & Annette Bohannon of Demorest,
GA; Thomas & Joan Bohannon of Gillsville, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda &
Jimmie Beavers of Baker, FL; sister and brother-in-law, Lois & Johnny Feaster of
Chester, SC; aunt, Ruth Lee of Chester, SC; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren;
and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2019 from the
Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Grizzle and Rev.
Martin Graham officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour
on Sunday.
