Mildred Ruth Adams Allison, age 92, of Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, May 13, 2024.

Mildred was born on May 9, 1932, in White County, Georgia, to the late Jack and Belle Adams.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Hoyt Allison; her sisters, Harriett Goettmann, Dora Mae Chastain, Frances Chastain; her brothers, Edwin Hugh Adams, Lobur Adams, Sam Adams, and Archie Adams.

Mildred was a loving, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was a member of Community Baptist Church.  She loved playing piano and singing.  Mildred played for many years at Community Baptist Church.  She loved writing songs and poetry and had several songs and poems published.  She occasionally wrote some short stories for the White County News in years past.  Mildred was a substitute teacher at Nacoochee School many years ago and that’s where she graduated.  While she was able, she wouldn’t miss a school reunion.  She loved to cook and have big family gatherings.  She taught Sunday School at Nacoochee Methodist Church in her younger years.  The family would like to thank her caregiver, Brandi Bowden, and the staff at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home and Rehab.

She is survived by her son, Hoyt Harold Allison (Judy); daughter, Diane Winkler Chambers; grandchildren, Michelle Chambers and Dana Winkler Browning; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 17, 2024, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.  The Rev. Rondal Garmon will officiate.  Interment will follow in Nacoochee Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
