(ATLANTA) On Friday and Saturday, the Truett McConnell University women’s track and field team traveled to compete at the Emory Spring Break Classic hosted by Emory University, where the Lady Bears finished 10th out of 16 teams. 

Leading the way for TMU was Myesha Hall as she took a first-place finish in the long jump, qualifying for NAIA nationals in May with a mark of 5.65 meters. Sarah Owen followed finishing in third place in the 1500 meter race with a time of 4:59.46 and an eighth-place finish in the 800 meter race (2:24.15). In the women’s shot put, Grace Jones finished seventh with a mark of 11.49 meters. The 4×100 meter relay team, featuring Amya Arnold, Hall, Brooke Wilmoth and Esther Nakanwagi, finished sixth with a time of 50.42 seconds. The 4×400 meter relay team, featuring Nakanwagi, Trenyonna Allen, Owen and Hall, finished in fifth (4:11.25), while in the long jump, Nakanwagi finished eighth (9.94 meters).

Up next, the Lady Bears will travel on Friday, March 24, back to Atlanta, Ga. for another two-day meet hosted by Emory University.
