Frank M. Kinney, age 93 of Clarkesville, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021. 

Born in Clarkesville, Georgia on November 16, 1927, he was the son of the late Marvin Kinney and Evelyn Smith Kinney. Mr. Kinney was a self-employed brick mason and taught Masonry courses at North Georgia Technical College. He was a member of the VFW Post #7720. In his spare time he loved horses and horse-trading, he was an avid gardener, loved playing cards with his family, and reading western books. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a member of Hollywood Baptist Church. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Welborn “Dot” Kinney; a son, Marvin Cecil Kinney; brothers, Raymond, Hugh, and Harvey; sisters, Beryle, Mildred, Irene, and Pauline. 

Surviving is his sons, Morris Kinney and Benny Kinney both of the Hollywood Community; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy & Phil Ivester of the Hollywood Community and Pam & Jerry Brooks of Clayton; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Ernest & Eula Kinney of Mt. Airy; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. 

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm, Wednesday, September 22, 2021, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with David Terrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Hollywood Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by the Grant Reeves Veteran’s Honor Guard. 

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
