(Cleveland)- The Cleveland Fire Department saw a 172 percent increase in their activates in September. Cleveland Fire Chief Ricky Pruitt shared that information with the Cleveland City Council at a meeting Monday.
Pruitt said during September that had 74 events in the city and 32 in the county for a total of 106. According to Pruitt the huge increase in their activities was a large increase in Public Assist calls, or people stopping by the fire station for assistance.
During the month the fire department responded to 5 structure fires, 2 car fires, 22 medical calls , 17 auto accidents and 48 public assist.
