(Cleveland) – A boil water notice has been issued for certain water customers serviced by the City of Cleveland water service.

In a news release Thursday from Andrea Smith, City of Cleveland Water Distribution Operator the notice states that Georgia Department of Transportation utility contract workers will be doing maintenance work on a 12” water main.

The notice will affect the City of Cleveland water customers at the following locations:

1210 Hulsey Road to Highway 75 North to the Northeast Georgia Physicians Group Urgent Care. This includes customers at 190 Tom Bell Road and Asbestos Road up to the White County Parks and  Recreation Department.

Due to the maintenance, the City issued a boil water notice for the affected customers. The notice is required by the EPD to ensure the safety of the drinking water for the city’s customers in the event of the possibility of a contaminant entering the system. Water needs to be boiled until the City lifts the notice.

The City will notify the media as soon as the boil water notice is lifted.
