(Cleveland)- Thursday evening White County School System Teachers, Employees, and Bus Drivers of the Year were recognized in a special ceremony held at the White County Middle School in Cleveland.

During that time one person in each of those categories were selected to represent the school system.

Laura Corley, Director of Human Resources for White County Schools said, “Our recognition tonight is to highlight individuals that are chosen by their peers as exceptionally dedicated, knowledgeable, motivated and skilled in their field.”

2023-24 Bus Drivers of the Year Tina Johnson, Steve Tucker and Lynn Taylor

The bus drivers of the year that were recognized were Tina Johnson, representing the elementary schools, Steve Tucker, a middle and high school driver and Lynn Taylor, Special Ed. Driver. Steve Tucker was announced as the system bus driver of the year.

Employees of the Year Kaylin Palmer, Gayle Nash, Donna Smith, Waisha Scobee, Gail Turner, Hayla Stanley, and Burton Davis

Employees of the year included Kaylin Palmer, from J P Nix; Gayle Nash, Mossy Creek Elementary, Donna Smith Mt. Yonah; Waisha Scobee, Tesnatee Gap: Gail Turner, Middle School; Hayla Stanley, High School; and Burt Davis representing Transportation Support. Gayle Nash, a school nurse was presented with the system employee of the year.

Teachers of the Year, Kacy Worley, Kessica Rogers, Chris Dotson, April Teems, Leslie Hughes, Caroline Bishop,

Teachers of the year for the 2023-24 school year include; Kacey Worley, JP Nix; Jessica Rogers Mossy Creek; April Teems Mount Yonah; Leslie Hughes TGAP; Caroline Bishop, Middle School; and Chris Dotson, White County High.

Caroline Bishop, who is a  6th grade gifted ELA, (English Language Arts)  instructor, was announced as the system teacher of the year. Bishop shared her feelings about the honor, “ I’m just thinking about Ephesians 2:10 because it says, “ our purpose is to do the good work that God has prepared for us before him,” and that good works walks into my classroom every day so this isn’t a job it’s the purpose for which I was created

Director Corley said this is an anticipated time each year, “ I’m so excited to be able to recognize our wonderful educators, employees, and bus drivers they are all deserving they work hard and I’m just proud to be a part of this celebration,”  commented Corley.
