(Cleveland)- Georgia Department of Transportation officials has closed the bridge on State Route 9 (US 129) at Turner’s Corner in Lumpkin County Friday night to traffic for safety precautions.
GDOT spokesperson Katie Strickland in a press statement said Saturday morning, Georgia DOT bridge crews will be accessing if debris left from the recent storms has damaged the bridge’s support structures.
Drivers are being directed by flagging operators at this time.
Additional updates will be sent to the media and traveling public if the bridge remains closed for longer than 24 hours.
