(CLEVELAND) – For the regular-season finale, the Truett McConnell University wrestling team competed in a tri-match against Keiser University and No. 14 Campbellsville University inside the TMU Volleyball/Wrestling Arena, where they finished with one win and one loss on the day. The Bears defeated the Seahawks with a team score of 42-9, featuring three pins and three decision wins. TMU put up a fight in match two but ultimately fell to No. 14 Campbellsville with a team score of 16-33.
The Bears recognized their three seniors, Will Davidson, Dalton Hardeman and Preston Sartain, who all collected a single win on the day.
Most notable, juniors Leonel Silvestre and Ian James went two for two in individual matches. Silvestre tallied two hard-fought decision wins with scores of 12-7 and 8-5, while James earned two pins, the first with 42 seconds remaining in period one and the second with 15 seconds remaining in period two.
