(OPELIKA, Ala.) – A White County woman was killed in a vehicle accident Monday near Auburn, Alabama. According to an online report by Opelika-Auburn News, 41-year old Jessica Renee Smith of Sautee Nacoochee was a passenger in a Chrysler PT Cruiser that was rear-ended and then knocked into the back of a tractor-trailer.
The accident happened around 4 p.m. Monday on Interstate 85.
According to the report, Lee County Coroner Bill Harris told the paper that Smith was restrained and died for a severe head injury on the scene.
The Auburn Police Department investigated the accident.
