fitRaise logo10-8-14(Sautee Nacoochee)- A White County business has been selected as one of ten finalist in a mobile innovation competition, The Mobileys.  Mobile Future, a Washington, DC based organization announced the ten finalists and Sautee Nacoochee based  fitRaise is one of those chosen.

The competition now enters the People’s Choice portion where the company with the most online votes at a website will  earn a check and the People’s Choice Award.  The winner of the People’s Choice stands to earn $2,500 on top of the three podium prizes, awarded by Mobile Future’s panel of judges, which come with checks of  up to $10,000.  In addition to fitRaise there are nine other companies vying for the top honors from around the country.

As the only company from GA and just one of two from the Southeast, Bobby Valentine, CEO and co-Founder of fitRaise says “This is a great opportunity to show that innovation and advancement can come from areas outside of New York and San Francisco.  It may be more difficult but it can and does happen”    The local start-up for this company  is getting ready to launch their main platform later this month.  The platform is designed to allow charity organizations to raise money for causes through the fitness activities of supporters using a unique peer to peer pledge process.

The voting period ends October 18th at midnight so Valentine is asking everyone to go online and vote for them.   “It’s really tough to business and a startup off the ground  when your not in those court areas  like New York or San Francisco  so anything that anybody in this community  can do to help us, go to the Mobileys dot com and vote for fitRaise in this competition, it will help us win and it will help show people around the country that good thinks can happen here in north Georgia without all the technology and advancement, “ said Valentine.
