(Cleveland)- The White County School System has announced that the White County Cannery will be open beginning June 27th. As in past years, the facility will have the equipment needed and assistance provided by White County Agriculture teachers to help preserve items during operating hours.

Visitors to the cannery are responsible for bringing all supplies needed for canning in glass jars. The cost per jar is $0.25.

All items must be in the jar for processing 1 hour before closing.

White County Cannery is located next to the White County Middle School on Old Blairsville Highway, Cleveland.

The cannery will be open June 27th through August 29th each Tuesday from 8 am until 12 pm, through July 24 – the last Tuesday for the season, and Thursdays from 2 PM until 6 PM.

The cannery will be CLOSED on July 4th for the holiday, July 16th because of a teachers’ conference, and August 15th for a livestock show.
