(CLEVELAND, Ga.) – The Truett McConnell University softball team hosted Brenau University in an Appalachian Athletic Conference match-up, where the Lady Bears clinched game one with a dominating score of 9-0, while the Golden Tigers got even with a 1-9 win in game two.

GAME ONE | 5 Innings

Cassie Boatright RBI single in the bottom of the first inning got the ball rolling for TMU, while Rebecca Graham put the ball in play in the bottom of the second to offer an opportunity for Grace Folds to score (2-0). Sharp pitching from Kyleigh Sanders kept the Golden Tigers as bay, followed by hot bats from the Lady Bears offense. A Rachel Morgan RBI single, Ellie Abner fielders choice and a Jenna O’Brien two run RBI gave TMU a hefty lead, while a Kyndall Gipson RBI single and a dynamite Boatright triple scored the final runs of the game in mercy rule fashion (9-0).

LEADERS

Boatright led the way going 3 for 3 at the plate with three RBIs and one run. O’Brien recorded two’s all across the board with two hits, two RBIs and two runs, while Cronic went 2 for 3, Morgan went 1 for 3 with one RBI and Folds went 1 for 3 with one run.

LEADERS

Gipson led with one hit and one RBI, while Isabelle Sullivan had one hit with one run and Boatright had one hit of her own.
