(Sautee, GA)-  The respected History Museum at the Sautee Nacoochee Center is set to undergo a remarkable makeover, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the SNC History Museum Committee. The committee’s tireless work in researching, planning, and securing funds has paved the way for a complete overhaul of the museum’s exhibits and guest experience.

Beginning this spring, all museum artifacts will be cataloged and stored in preparation for the renovation project. The Center has enlisted the expertise of HW Exhibits, a museum exhibit design and build firm, to craft brand new exhibits, cases, and interpretive panels, taking the visitor’s experience to the next level. With a focus on incorporating audiovisual components, the goal is to create an immersive, interactive journey for all.

The History Committee is working closely with the design firm to ensure that the new layout and exhibits honor both the historic integrity of the 1928 school building in which the museum is housed and the rich tapestry of the valleys’ history. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for Fall 2024.

The public is invited to “A New Chapter Begins: Honoring Our Past, Embracing Our Future”, a reception to be held on Friday, April 19 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. It will be a unique opportunity to say farewell to the old museum while getting an exclusive sneak peek at the plans for the future. Come celebrate the legacy of the History Museum as we anticipate the wonders that lie ahead in this “new” chapter of history.
