(KENNESAW, Ga.) – The University of North Georgia women’s track & field competed Friday in the Kennesaw State Invitational. The Nighthawks had five top-10 finishes and a pair of runners made the podium for the fourth time this year.

Junior Ella Stoudenmire, who already picked up one first place finish this season, ran well again in the women’s 800-meter competition. Stoudenmire ran a 2:15.52 en route to a podium finish in second place.

In the women’s 5000-meter race, junior Anna Chasteen finished in first place with a 19:12.24 time.

Senior Ashley Pope also finished in the top-10 in the 5000-meter with a 20:57.56 run.

In the 4×400 meter relay race, UNG had a pair of top 10 finishes as Stoudenmire, senior Claire Mills, freshman Nealeigh Broadwell and senior Kaylee Downing finished in fourth place with a 4:12.53 pace.

Junior Peyton Bussell, senior Jessica Calderon, freshman Grace Opsahl and freshman Reese Vandergriff finished in seventh in the same race with a 4:41.02 time.

UNG will now prepare for the West Georgia Invitational next week as the Nighthawks will travel to Carrollton, Ga. on Saturday, Apr. 6 for the event.
