Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mr.Miles Herbert
Faine, age 82 of Cleveland. Herbert passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00pm, Sunday, March 6, 2016 in the funeral
chapel with Rev. Danny Jarrard, Rev. Phillip Robinson officiating. Interment will
follow in Gateway Memory Park with Judge Garrison Baker officiating. Herbert
was born in White County to the late Thomas N. Fain Sr. and Louvine Adams
Fain. He served with honor in the United States Army and worked for a some
time with the Georgia Department of Transportation, later he would work with
Orbit Manufacturing as a truck driver, a position he would hold until his
retirement. Herbert has a special talent when it come to woodworking, he could
replicate almost any piece of furniture simply seeing it one time. He loved his
God, his country and his family and he held them in them in the highest regard as
he did his friends. He was always willing to help those in need and always had a
joke or friendly hello. He was an active member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church,
where he served as Chairman of the Deacons. In addition to his parents, he is
preceded in death his loving wife Helen Holcomb Fain, who incidentally passed
away this same date in 2012, he is also preceded by his brother, William Lester
Fain; sisters, Helen Anderson, Linda Stewart and Pearl Alexander. He is survived
by his sister,Opal Beavers of Atlanta; brothers, Thomas N. Fain Jr. of Clarkesville
and Watson Fain (Linda) of Duluth; sister in law, Virginia Nix ( Ellis) of Helen;
brothers in law, Bill “James”Holcomb of Hiawassee, Bud Guy Eugene Holcomb of
Young Harris and Fred Holcomb Jr. of Cleveland. as well as host of nieces and
nephews and countless friends.
Visitation will held at the funeral home on Saturday from 5 to 8 pm. Flowers will
be acknowledged, however it is requested that memorial donations be made to
Crescent Hill Baptist Church.
