Mr. Kenneth Garvice Magness, age 73, of Honea Path, SC, passed away Friday, September 11, 2020.

Mr. Magness was born in Cleveland, GA to the late Fletcher and Dorothy Abernathy Magness.  In addition to parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Donald Magness, Robert Magness, Carlous Magness, Harold Magness, Jerry Magness, and Ricky Magness; sister, Martha Owens; sisters and brothers-in-laws, Ruthlene and Junior Savage and Josephine and Junior Sutton; and brother-in-law, Tommy Burdette.  Mr. Magness worked for the Hall County School Board as well as the Hall County Sheriff’s Resource Department. He was a member of High Praise Church of God.

Survivors include wife, Carol Magness, Honea Path, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Mark Thrasher, Alto; daughter, Amanda Magness, Cleveland; step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Bryson Burdette and Dodie, Ware Shoals, SC; sisters-in-law, Ann Magness, Alto, Glenda Magness, Lula, and Carol Magness, Cleveland; brother-in-law, Doug Owens, Alto; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joy and Travis Chapman, Anderson, SC; granddaughter, Autumn Hamilton, Cleveland; granddaughter, Alexandria and husband Bronson Davis, Cleveland; grandson, Cody Hamilton and wife, Ashley Hamilton, Dahlonega; 3 great-grandsons, Abriel, Axton, and Finn; and 25 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 A.M. Tuesday, September 15, 2020 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Chris Sustar and Rev. Comer Ledford will officiate.  Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery in Lula.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 P.M. Sunday, September 13, 2020 and from 5-7 P.M. Monday, September 14, 2020 at the funeral home.
