(Cleveland)-The White County Board of Commissioners has voted to impose some additional restrictions to their already approved State of Emergency and Emergency Protective Ordinance to help control the spread of COVID-19. The board meeting in a teleconference Thursday afternoon voted to impose additional restrictions that are designed to help with the health situation in the county.

The new restriction call for no new reservations, business or occupancy be allowed beginning at noon Friday, April 3rd for any Motel, Hotel, Inn, Short Term Vacation Rentals, Campgrounds and RV Parks in the county. Those who are not a resident of White County and are in one of the facilities must vacate the premises by noon Saturday, April 4th.

The new restrictions will be in effect until April 13th or unless it is extended. Commission Chairman Travis Turner said it was a difficult decision.   The commissioners and other county officials say they have received numerous reports of an influx of people flowing into the area.

Commissioner Terry Goodger said this is necessary because people are not observing the shelter in place orders in their areas.
