Representatives of South Enotah Child Advocacy, White County DFAS, and Enota CASA accept Child Abuse Prevention Month proclamation

(Cleveland)- Last week the White County Board of Commissioners approved a proclamation declaring the month of April as Child Abuse Prevention Month in White County in recognition of the work to help and protect children by the South Enotah Child Advocacy Center, White County Family Connection, White County Department of Family and Children Services and Enotah Court Appointed Special Advocates, CASA.

The board of commissioners also approved a proclamation declaring April 15 through 19th as Exceptional Children’s Week in White County. White County Commission Chairman Travis Turner reading the proclamation said, ‘During Exceptional Children’s Week  White County Schools and the community at large will participate in activities centered around all types of disabilities and exceptionalities through issuances of this proclamation in order to inform the community of this important week.”

Turner told the crowd that 675 students in the White County School System are currently receiving special education services.
