ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The University of North Georgia women’s golf team finished tied for eighth in a field of 16 at the 2016 Flagler Fall Slam at Marsh Creek Country Club in St. Augustine, Florida. The Nighthawks shot a 322 in the final round to finish at 314-322-636, 60 strokes over par.
Jordyn Sims posted her second consecutive 75 to finish at 75-75-150, +6, in a tie for 10-th individually. Carson Robertswas the only Nighthawk able to improve upon her first round screw finishing two shots better today at 80, to finish at 82-80-162.
An impressive day by Barry, who entered the day tied for first in the team standings, led to them running away with the tournament at 301-286-587, +11, 17 strokes ahead of second place Flagler. BU’s Tilda Larsson claimed the individual medalist honor finishing even on the tournament at 74-70-144.
The Flagler Fall Slam concludes UNG’s fall schedule. The women’s golf team will resume play in early February.
