Library Manager Michael Humphrey points to sign informing the public about tax form issues

(Cleveland)- It’s  almost tax filing time and in the past both branches of White County Public  Library  have offered an extensive supply of  tax forms and people have come to expect those forms will be there.  Well,  not this year.  With the recent  budget cuts at the Internal Revenue Service  they have decreased the amount of  printed forms that they will make available.

Michael Humphrey, Program Manager for White County Public Libraries said they have been informed that the forms they will receive  have been cut to just three versions  the 1040,  1040A and 1040EZ.  But,  he admits he doesn’t know when those  will be available

Humphrey advises those needing forms should  go online and download them.   Above all  he says please don’t be upset with them for the lack of forms , “ this is nothing of the library’s choice, this is not us  deciding that its available online  just go there, this is something that came from the IRS,” said Humphrey.

He  said,” in the past this is a service that the public library was able to offer, which we will not be able to offer, because they are not providing it to us.”
