HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Carson Roberts shot a one-over-par 73 as the University of North Georgia women’s golf team finished the first round in fourth place at the Battle at Old South.

Florida Southern leads the tournament after 18 holes, firing a 293 in the opening round. Lee and Catawba are in second and third, respectively, followed by North Georgia and Saint Leo. The Nighthawks are nine strokes off the lead with 18 holes to play.

Roberts is in a tie for fifth individually, three strokes off the pace set by Flagler’s Pauline Tainton. Megan Sabol is tied for 10th place, one stroke behind Roberts.

The Nighthawks will wrap up play in the Battle at Old South tomorrow morning. Tee times for UNG start at 8:52 a.m.
