INDIANAPOLIS – University of North Georgia junior Logan Archer was selected to participate as an individual in the 2018 NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional Men’s Golf Championship as announced by the NCAA office on Fridayafternoon.

The three-day event will be held from May 7-9 at Rock Barn Golf Club in Conover, N.C.

In order to be selected to play as an individual, a student-athlete must be from a team that did not qualify for the tournament and be one of the top four golfers in their region.

In 12 events this season, Archer is the Nighthawks’ top scorer with a 72.7 scoring average. He claimed medalist honors at the Montevallo Full Moon BBQ Invitational in the fall and shared the title at the Southern Tide Classic in the spring.

Archer, ranked No. 102 in GolfStat’s individual rankings, is the second golfer from UNG to be earn a spot in NCAA play after Matt Elliott became the first just last season.

At a minimum, the top three teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional (regardless of region) will advance to the finals May 21-15, at Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at the Shoals, Fighting Joe Course in Muscle Shoals, Ala.
