STATESBORO, Ga. – For a fifth-straight year, the University of North Georgia rifle team claimed the Georgia State Championship with a win over Georgia Southern Saturday. UNG has won the championship every year since 2013-14.

Dakota Spivey was the top performer of the match, scoring an 1,154 between the two disciplines. Ricky Medina finished one point behind Spivey, including personal bests in both air rifle and smallbore.

Other shooters with personal bests in the match included Kimberlee Nettles with a 591 in air rifle and Brianna Shaw with a 562 in smallbore.

The Nighthawks will host UT-Martin in the first home match of the year. The match starts at 9 a.m. in the COL Raymond C. Hamilton Rifle Range.
